Cod4 freezes after updating PB

Ey Guys,
After being away for 6 months and having a new computer,I wanted to start playing cod4 again. I installed the game as usual and installed the patches. First what happened was that my cod4 freezes when I started to play multiplayer. I got a config from my old computer and than most of the times I was able to start the game.
When I joined a server I got after a couple of minutes an error: This PB Server Requires (A1407 C2.318)-Error loading pbcl.
So I tried updating my PB manually, but then when I start the game. I got the main menu, but then immediately my cod4 freezes.
Somebody any suggestions in fixing it? I would really appreciate it.
Problem is PB. If I reinstall with pb, it works all fine, except I cannot join any servers ofcourse that play with PB.

PB updating is not the problem, after updating, the game freezes. I even copied the files from my old pc where it just worked fine

Sorry to break it to ya lad, but I don't think that problems fixable. Happened to my mate Basti in iceland, couldn't fix it all
But did he had the same that he could play without updating pb, but he got kicked from servers because of pb?
