HELP INSTALLING PROMOD ERROR

hi iv recently got a new pc and im trying to install the patches for cod4 and this error keeps popping up

could anyone know the reason please?

"setup has detected that you have digitally distributed version of cod installed. please refer to your original vendor for a multiplayer patch compatible with your version of the game"

try to download cod4 from another link and then start downloading patches 1 by 1.

Don't do it too quickly cause the pc is new and it's not used to install many things in one day.
Keep it slowly.
Be patient.
Install one by one;-)

PB stopped doing the updates for COD4 so they removed it from steam, he needs the COD4 pb files...
