Firstly, this is the first announcement of several that will be posted over the coming weeks and months.

I want to thank the players, supporters, teams, organisations and staff for their efforts in 2018. Above all I want to extend a personal thanks to the many volunteers of CyberGamer who have helped grow Australian Esports.

I am excited to announce the acquisition of CyberGamer by LPL, which will kick off a whirlwind year of esports in 2019. You can read more information about that here.

With the additional support we will now be supporting more titles than ever before. The prize pools and number of LAN finals in 2019 will both more than double.

For the first time, the PRO divisions will be televised via LPL, this will mean significantly increased exposure for players, teams, organisations and casters.

The supported titles for the year are listed in the graphic below. Signups for each game will open over the next few days, please look out for the individual announcements for each game.

The LAN package for PRO teams now includes free accommodation, in addition the travel allowance has increased from $1250 to $2000 per team (AUD). Given we were never able to offer free accomodation this should be a very welcome improvement for organisations. However some LAN finals will only be for the top 3 teams rather than top 4, depending on TV broadcast requirements.

The supported titles currently planned are: CSGO, DOTA2, Black Ops 4 (PS4), R6 Siege (PC+PS4), Project Cars 2, NBA2K19, PUBG, StarCraft 2 and we’re adding our first mobile game ever: Clash Royale.

The image embedded below expands on the divisions/prizes for each of these games. As usual, this is dependant on the scene for each game being both stable and large enough and is subject to change at any-time.

DIVISION NAMING
We are making further changes to the division names on the website, they will now be as follows:

PRO* - The best of the best, always has LAN finals and is always broadcasted (usually on TV).
Challenger* - (Formally CGi/Platinum), is often broadcasted, is the top division if PRO is not supported.
Evolution* - (Formally CGm/Gold), requires you to qualify/relegate up from Amateur, only applies to very large games like CSGO for now.
Amateur* - (Formally CGa/Silver), the only requirement to compete is to have an active subscription.
Open - This is our normal free ladder where players can build up some skill before choosing to enter Amateur.

*Requires a subscription to compete.

A pathway graphic for new users can be viewed here.

ADMIN CHANGES
From now on all admins will only be able to compete in the free/open divisions for games that we support, this is a required change that is needed to reduce the appearance of a conflict of interest and to continue to maintain a high level of integrity in our competitions.

Would you like to assist as a community admin? We are currently taking applications for 2019.

If you would like to contribute to the development of your scene and gain more esports experience, apply here.

BAN APPEALS
From now on, for the most part hackers will only be banned by game developers and any anti-cheat programs we require you to use. Bans from demo reviews and anti-cheat panels will essentially cease, this is in-line with how most other leagues handle things.

All players will continue to be expected to follow our code of conduct and terms and conditions.

As such, all players who have been banned in the past are welcome to open a new ban appeal support ticket and they’ll be re-reviewed by the admin team on a case-by-case basis.

WEBSITE SURVEY
A new version of the website will be launched this year and we would love your feedback. All survey entries will go into the draw to WIN a Logitech G433 7.1 Wired Surround Sound gaming headset.

To enter the draw we do ask for your contact details but if you'd rather remain anonymous and still complete the survey we understand and would appreciate your feedback.

Enter Survey Here.

We are excited about 2019 and look forward to your continued support.

DEMO REVIEWS BEING REMOVED FOR BANS IS BIG NONO

eg; "in other news, doris starts spinbotting his way to cgpl lan with zero repercussions if the AC doesn't catch him???"

Other than the lack of demo bans, this is a great update. Well done LPL/CG

Yeah I understand, unfortunately they require an extraordinary amount of time to do and very few other leagues do them. Best to leave anti-cheat to game devs and AC clients. Demo reviewing and AC panels will really never catch a good hacker.

We at least award the vast majority of our prizemoney on LAN

Does that mean you'll be introducing the use of an anticheat?

Fair point, are there any plans for a client-side AC for CSGO? Would be an amazing improvement, especially for Open and Amateur

In this case will you be bringing back a required AC? CG A is going to be rife with cheaters otherwise.

Also, "Evolution* - (Formally CGm/Gold), requires relegation from Amateur, only applies to CSGO for now." So is this league below CGA now? Or do you mean relegated to CGA?
