Tekken 7 IESF World Championship NZ Qualifier

LPL, in partnership with the New Zealand Esports Federation and Bandai Namco, are thrilled to bring you a New Zealand qualifying event for the prestigious 2018 IESF Esports World Championship in Kaohsiung!

Qualifying
We are first bringing you three local qualifying events in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch, in our quest to find New Zealand’s top eight Tekken 7 players to advance into our main IeSF qualifying event.

The Wellington event will be run in partnership with ExpansionNZ and the Christchurch event will be run in partnership with GotGame There will also be an online qualifier.

National Finals
The top eight event will be broadcast LIVE on twitch.tv/letsplaylive and SKY Sport as the fighters battle for an invitation to compete against the best in the world at the 2018 Esports World Championship in Kaohsiung.

The first place winner will also receive $1500, second place $1000 and third place $500.

Format
Qualifying is open to all and will be a standard double elimination tournament.

Two players from each local region and two players from online qualifiers will make up the national top eight.

The national top eight will begin again from scratch in a new double elimination tournament which will be played out until one winner remains.

The top eight will be flown to LPL Studios in Auckland with accommodation provided. The champion will win $1500 and an invitation to compete at the 2018 Esports World Championship in Kaohsiung in August. Second place will be awarded $1000, and third place $500.
